The Tuna Benchmark

Structure creates consistency. Consistency creates trust.

Maldivian tuna is recognised not for volume, but for integrity — in how it is caught, handled, and processed.

Big Fish reflects that integrity at scale.

Fair trade

Maldives does not allow industrial fishing vessels within its waters, and restricts tuna fishing to artisanal boats (dhonis) owned by the island communities. All fishers in Maldives receive a share of the take from each trip, averaging 60-80% of export value - the highest anywhere in the world.
